Came here with the in-laws and had lunch. Foods good and it gets packed. Make sure to get here early and if you’re ordering some oven baked items, it might take a while. Def still a gem for the price it is, cash only. I enjoyed my won ton lo mien and iced lemon coke. We also ordered curry oxtail rice, baked oxtail over rice, and baked pork chop. Just a lot of people enjoying their lunch and watching the tv that they have there. Sunday football . 10/10 I’m Chinese so I’d come back again. - iG@BlackTigerEats

What we ordered was Indonesian fried rice and ox tongue baked pasta. Tak Kee is a Hong Kong Cha Chang Tang style food at reasonable price which is the cheapest in the outer sunset area. Their Hong Kong style milk tea has a very rich tea flavor with evaporated milk added before it was served, which is a bit different from Hong Kong where you would need to add your own table sugar with your own adjustments.

If you are from Hong Kong! You know what I am talking about. Tak Kee Lee is my secret authentic 90’s Hong Kong “afternoon tea” spot. Their Hong Kong milk tea is spot on traditional and authentic. Give all the toast a try, the HK Western Style French Toast is my favorite.

Indoor dining 4/10/2021. They didn't have porridge this morning. I had their traditional Hong Kong style breakfast. Instant noodles, fried egg, pork chops and spam with milk tea $8.75. Tak Kee Lee has a comprehensive Hong Kong style cafe menu. You can get baked spaghetti/rice, curry, macaroni and various noodles. Their HK style drink menu covers all the usual milk tea and Ovaltine drinks. I can say their dishes taste close to the ones found in Hong Kong. Their food aren't going to be the knock your socks off type of cuisines but rather if you are in the mood for some HK style cafe meals, they are not bad.

Tak Kee Lee (德記) – “Sampan Congee 艇仔粥”is conveniently located on Noriega Street near 32nd Avenue along Muni Line 7 (“Haight/Noriega”) in Sunset District that opens at 8 am daily except Thursdays. This small hole-in-the-wall restaurant serves the best congee in The City; and its service and cooking methods inhv authenticates its diligence and dedication to average working-class customers all year round without inflating price if not downsizing quantity hence ruining quality in the midst of “post-pandemic new normals.” [*得卽德也。One must possess moral qualities and dispositions(德:two persons to the left ten eyes to stare on the right top with heart on right bottom) before gainfully succeed(得:two persons on the left turtle (wealth) on right top one hand to grab the wealth on right bottom.)] The name of Sampan Congee 艇仔粥” comes from small boats in the Delta of Pearl River 荔枝湾 area in Guangzhou (Canton) called sampan where in the early 20th century fishmen started selling creamiest rice porridge later became iconic HK cuisine by mixing up both fresh and dried seafood, bits of the famous Cantonese roasted duck, crunchy peanuts, crisp and chewy fried Chinese doughnut sticks (Youtiao 油条)(“oil fried ghost “ You Zha Gui 油炸鬼) in Cantonese. [*人所歸爲鬼.Chinese are not racist by calling you “ghost” whether white, black, or little because it simply means one to be buried after death in the earth. Period.] The traditional cooking methos is free style or “un tiro libre” but the following are included: creamy rice congee cooked in ideally boiling salty pork bone soup thousand-year-old preserved egg Pidan (皮蛋) dried squid (乾魷魚) deep fried fish maw “Buche” (炸魚肚) Chicharrónes (猪皮)jellyfish (海蜇)or Cantonese roasted duck(烤鴨) fresh water grass carp (鯇魚)shredded fresh ginger and scallions a few fried peanuts on top middle. Enjoy! (PS Don’t forget to dip your doughnut sticks in the creamy congee then suck on it. Yummy!)

Hearty and nostalgic place for Hong Kong style breakfast. We got the macaroni soup and preserved veg and noodle soup. Both were good portions and came with a good amount of meat. However the hong kong milk tea was lacking…tasted like it was made with soy milk. Great bang for your buck. Would go again, i might just order a different drink

This is indeed a no frills HK cafe aka. cha chan tang! We ordered 2 dishes: black pepper beef ribs and baked pork chop. The portions are on the bigger side and they were both tasty taste! The meats for both dishes were tender and flavorful. It wasn’t too salty either. The yuanyang (half coffee/half milk tea) and hot milk tea paired perfectly with our meal. The space may feel crammed and there might be a wait due to that but the turn over was pretty quick for us (5min queue). Staff wore masks and payment can be done over Venmo if you forgot cash. Will revisit again soon~
